Mini-Week 2026 a Huge Success
The 2026 Taproots Mini-Week was a tremendous success! For five days and four nights, campers had the opportunity to step outside their everyday routines, explore the outdoors, try new activities, and experience the magic of life at Camp Walden. From swimming in the lake and sharing campfire stories to making new friends and discovering new interests, campers created lasting memories. Thanks to the generosity of our donors, the dedication of our Camp Walden staff, and the support of our community partners, Taproots continued its mission of making the benefits of residential summer camp accessible to children who might otherwise never have the opportunity to attend.
In our 5th year of Mini-Week, through our partnerships with Brilliant Detroit and the Boys & Girls Clubs of Flint, we welcomed 73 campers to Camp Walden from Wayne, Macomb, Oakland, and Wayne counties in Michigan. The success of Mini-Week 2026 reinforces our belief that every child deserves the opportunity to experience the joy, growth, and lasting benefits of summer camp—and inspires us to continue providing that opportunity at the highest level in the years ahead.
